Who We Are
In 2005, José Antonio Chacón, in a visionary gesture and with the hope of creating the project of his life in the future, registered the elPulpo brand, although it would not be until years later, specifically in 2016, when that dream began to take shape and become a reality.
In the winter of 2016, José Antonio and Jorge Chacón embarked on a father-son trip that changed everything. After long hours of talks, secrets and endless plans , “we returned with the conviction and enthusiasm to create something of our own, to develop a project that would reflect a very clear image and values . ”
With that dream, that of giving life to our own brand, we registered the icon that would represent our identity, the elPulpo symbol, and we began to design our first garments, up to today.
Our origins are connected to Galicia and, as such, we carry the Atlantic spirit and the love for the sea and nature in our DNA, an essence that accompanies us wherever we go.
Our fundamental pillars are the ocean, the freshness of the Galician estuaries and respect for the environment, values that inspire us and guide each of the steps we take.
elPulpo was born from a dream and 8 years after putting our first garment on sale, we continue to dream strongly about the future. We dream of a more sustainable, more human future where you, who are the most important value for us, have a lot to say. Our journey begins with you.

2005
The year it all began
In 2005 we registered the name of our brand. An icon that we always knew would be close to the hearts of the people who wore it.

2016
The beginning of our journey
In 2016, the project began to take shape. At that time, José Antonio and Jorge Chacón embarked on a father-son journey that changed everything, a journey in which their dreams became more tangible. They registered our beloved elPulpo icon.
That same year, and after many tests on all kinds of materials, fabrics, applications, and with no other equipment than their own ingenuity and motivation, the first elPulpo garment was designed.
And so, after countless tests , moodboards, designs, inspirations and prototypes, the first elPulpo sample collection has arrived at the offices. A collection made up of 10 garments and a total of 400 units, designed in an artisanal way, in close proximity, and where enthusiasm and desire were the main pattern.

2017
elPulpo takes to the streets
In 2017, the first clients and multi-brand outlets began to trust us. Seeing our garments for the first time in some of the most representative stores nationwide was a source of immense pride.

2018
Our first pop-up store
In 2018 we opened our first pop-up in Sanxenxo, a reference town in Galicia, and our logo began to shine on the chests of the first #pulpolovers.

2020
We grow!
2020 is the year in which our expansion began to gain strength with the help of El Corte Inglés, with whom we established a value alliance that would last until today. Corner after corner, elPulpo is making its way throughout the national territory.

2021
Our first flagship store : we landed in Madrid with a sustainable store concept
In 2021 we landed on Calle Hortaleza in Madrid with a slow project designed by architect Marcos Samaniego and the MAS ARQUITECTURA studio.
This store is a reflection of our values, opting for the incorporation of natural elements such as recycled raft wood, beach sand mixed with mollusk shells or native vegetation, an architectural commitment that reinforces our DNA and our origins.

2022
From North to the World
2022 was the year of the presentation and international recognition of elPulpo. In January we participated for the first time in the most important men's fashion fair in the world, Pitti Uomo in Florence, where we shared space with some of the most relevant men's fashion brands of the moment, and where our brand was positioned as a Spanish textile benchmark.
This year, the second elPulpo flagship store was opened in A Coruña, our home city, where we bring the brand closer to customers by offering a unique shopping experience.
In spring 2022, with the same philosophy, we launched the first elPulpo kids collection, which was created to complete the preppy fashion offering for the whole family with original, fresh and quality collections.

2023
Alliances of value... and with values

We are proud to continue our alliance with Estrella Galicia, a company with which we share origins and values, and with whom we are already on the way to launching our 3rd

2023. Sharing Dreams: Welcome, Nanos!
The iconic children's fashion brand Nanos, with more than 60 years of history in the universe of the little ones, joins us and the elPulpo project. We are starting a new and exciting stage!

Next Steps: A future in which we continue to dream
At elPulpo we are motivated to reach every corner and touch the hearts of every person, but, without a doubt, what truly gives us the most and makes us continue to strive every day is focusing on projects that improve the world and raise awareness among new generations.
MadebySeaLovers Foundation is our next project, the most personal and soulful initiative of elPulpo. We want to contribute to a society that is more respectful of the environment and of those who live in it and, to do so, we seek to promote educational, recreational, cultural and sporting projects that promote values related to respect for nature and the ocean.
