Take care of your clothes

Here we share some tips to keep your elPulpo garments looking as good as new.

The Label

That little piece of fabric contains a lot of important information that we often overlook. Just by looking at it, you can see the recommended care instructions for each item and avoid unpleasant surprises.

The Wash

We often wash too much, even clothes that we wear for a few hours. We do it out of habit and ignore the wear and tear that washing entails, along with its respective energy and water consumption. If we stop to evaluate which clothes really need to go in the washing machine, we will realize how many unnecessary washes we have been doing.

Oh! And it's always better to wash inside out and in cold water. This way, you reduce wear on the outside of the garment, the one that is visible, and expose more of the inside, the one that is in contact with the skin. In addition, by washing in cold water (at 30ºC) we not only reduce energy consumption, but we also improve other aspects: cold water does not affect the fabric, colour, elasticity or resistance of the garments as hot water does.

The detergent

The detergents we commonly find in supermarkets are usually synthetic, full of non-biodegradable chemicals. This is not only very aggressive for our clothes, but it also affects our skin.

If you can, look for natural detergent options and avoid those containing phthalates, phosphates and surfactants. The smaller the ingredient list, the better.

Drying

Using the dryer is another great habit that can accelerate the wear and tear of our clothes, both due to friction and heat.
Drying clothes outdoors will always be the best option: it allows you to take care of them for longer, reduces energy consumption to 0 and has no cost.
